it's actually been up for a coupla days. what do you guys think about those companies closing down?

personally i think even the ones that i never got anything from, all of em are a huge blow to the industry. i know black isle was making a 3rd fallout when they were closed down. those other companies did a helluva lot more than just what gamefaqs has listed as well. like one that i hate to see go, woulda porbably got more votes if people knew this, data east was the company that brought doube dragon to consoles. sucks knowing there'll never be a modern one(on something other than gba) microprose has been makin pc games since who knows when... what disturbs me most is the 2nd most voted is "they all deserved to die out" by 18339 people. i wonder if that woulda been the case if the ignorant fuckers saw square-enix up there. i think it all blows cuz a lot of good shit came outta all those companies combined.

I especially felt for Microprose, I own many old Microprose PC games, and I liked their first two F1 simulation games (they were the best by far in that age).

I think things change and evolve, and there might not be a place for everybody if they screw up, can't come up with a good product, fail at marketing and direction (*cough*segawillfoldsoonenough*cough*), etc., but this does not mean the industry is getting worse. While some close, and ?do not misunderstand me? it's a very sad thing they do, some other company is inventing a new game, saga, or mascot somewhere, or they might be reviving some old game, saga, or mascot, like it has been happening recently (for example, sega's revival of Outrun, too bad they won't release it for consoles when "porting" the game to xbox would be a snap, then again, look at what kind of morons are we talking about). And a company dying does not mean you cannot buy the license to follow their sagas. Who knows, we might be getting "Zero Wing Reloaded: Great Justice Never Dies" this year.

The ones who voted they all deserved to die are worthless fanboys.
